Bee Improvement and Bee Breeders' Association normally holds a Conference every two years, sometimes in conjunction with another organisation such as SICAMM (see links) which includes presentations by scientists and bee experts of international standing, visits and demonstrations.

Conferences are planned for Summer 2010 in England and every two years forward of that.

The 2004 Conference was held jointly with SICAMM on the Danish island of Laesoe, home of a unique strain of Dark European Honey bee, a report for which can be read Here. Similarly the 2009 SICAMM conference is to be organised in conjunction with BIBBA and the Scottish Beekeepers Association and will be held in Aviemore.

BIBBA Conferences have a bias towards bee breeding subjects and bee improvement in general, there is emphasis on breeding selection and quality control. We teach methods of assessment and morphometric measuring to establish the degree of purity, but we also deal with more routine management of bees, particularly where the management of Apis mellifera mellifera differs from hybridised bees.
